Who we are

Anhydrolabs supplies lyophilized reference reagents for laboratory research, from and within the United States. Questions about anything on this page go to [email protected], and we answer them ourselves.

What we collect

An account holds the name, email address and password you set, the confirmation that you are 21 or over, and any institutional affiliation you give. An order holds what you bought, the delivery address, and the email address it is confirmed to. A newsletter subscription holds an email address and nothing else.

The attestation record made on every order holds the buyer name and affiliation entered at checkout, the version of the research-use text displayed, the time, your IP address and your browser’s user agent.

We never see a card number. Payment happens at the gateway or the bank, not on this site.

Why we hold it

To take an order, ship it, and answer a question about it afterwards. The attestation record exists for a different reason: to answer, later and to someone who may not be you, what a named buyer affirmed and when. That is the whole purpose of the record, and it is why the rules below treat it differently from everything else.

How long

Account and order records are kept while the account exists and for as long afterwards as tax and commercial records require. Attestation records are retained indefinitely and cannot be edited or deleted — not on request, and not by us. A record that could be removed when it became inconvenient would not be evidence of anything. This is set out in the terms of supply as well, and affirming the statement at checkout is how you agree to it.

Who else sees it

The carrier that delivers the parcel gets the delivery address. The payment gateway or bank you choose handles the payment and tells us only whether it arrived. Our email provider carries order emails. Google Analytics, only if you accepted it, receives page addresses, a rough location and a device type.

Nobody buys this data from us, and there is nothing to buy: we do not sell or share personal information, and there are no advertising tags on this site.

Cookies

The attestation cookie and the session cookie are strictly necessary: without them the site cannot tell that you have read the entry statement or that you are signed in. Analytics is asked for rather than assumed — declining loads nothing at all, and a browser sending Global Privacy Control is taken as a decline without being asked. The choice can be changed at any time from cookie settings in the footer.

What you can ask for

A copy of what we hold about you, a correction to it, or its deletion. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you those rights explicitly, along with the right not to be treated differently for using them — and we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. Email [email protected] and we will answer within 45 days.

One exception, stated plainly: a deletion request cannot reach an attestation record or the order it belongs to. We will delete everything else and tell you exactly what was kept and why.

Children

This is not a site for anyone under 21, and an order cannot be placed without confirming that age. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revision and date at the top change with it. Material changes are announced on the site before they take effect.
